Earth Day Clean Up- Forty Fort Cemetary

earth day 1On Saturday April 18th, the Forty Fort Cemetery was the scene of the most successful Earth Day Clean Up ever.  More than 80 people showed up and worked diligently for hours, raking leaves, picking up branches, pruning trees, and getting rid of litter.  The Forty Fort Cemetery can boast of being one of the most historic sites in Wyoming Valley, and we were thrilled that interested people from all over the area showed their concern for Earth Day and this park setting.  Families from Lehman, Shavertown, Swoyersville, Kingston and Forty Fort as well as 70 students from Wyoming Valley West Middle School demonstrated their commitment as good stewards of the Earth.  We would like to thank Mr. Tim Needle and Mr. Sam Cohen for inspiring their students to participate in the event and Principal Debbie Troy and Vice Principal Charles Suppon, Jr. for their participation.  We would also like to thank Edwards Landscape and Nursery and Kuharchik Construction for their continued support.
