cam1 On Sunday, October 27, 2013, Forty Fort Police Officer Michael Haley responded to a report of a man with a gun threatening to kill his daughter and himself.  When officers arrived on scene, they found 1 year old Camryn Lee Shultz and her father had been shot.  Camryn was pronounced dead at the scene.  Camryn would have celebrated her 2nd birthday on October 29th.  Our thoughts and prayors remain with her family and friends.

On Friday, December 19, 2014, the access road leading into the Luzerne County Recreation Complex located off of Wyoming Ave (US RT-11) was named Camryn Way in memory of Camryn.

yates2  On Monday, October 27, 2014, Forty Fort Police Officer Peter Lakkis responded to a report of a structure fire on Yates Street in Forty Fort. Officer Lakkis and Firefighters Robert Pugh and Andy Tuzinski were able to save several residents from the fire but sadley, longtime borough resident, Rosalie McGough, 73, was pronounced dead at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township after fire broke out at her home at 24 McGoughYates Street in Forty Fort about 2:35 a.m. Her husband, Bill McGough survived the fire.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to her loving husband Bill, and her family and friends.
